My #poem inspired by #MichaelJackson’s #Earthsong https://youtu.be/XAi3VTSdTxU

Look what we have done to our planet
And how we have wounded our planet
The planet that gave us all life like a womb
Is now being selfishly doomed and consumed
As we have cut into the core like a knife
Now you can feel it in the teardrops of our Earth’s rain
The weeping shores of our planet’s pain
The cries of those who survive our wars
And those who we’ve denied like the poor
Along with the voices that we have ignored
And all of the lives that we have left to die
The smog that fills our skies and hides our sunrise
And all for what so we all can obtain more
Can’t you feel it? In the tear drops of our Earth’s rain
The weeping shores of our planet’s pain
And we say that we are here for peace so we claim
But it seems that war is all we truly wanna unleash
As we look at the land as another piece
That we all can sell, buy or gain,
As we strip the animals of their rights to be free
And cut down the Earth’s trees and kill the rainforest
And bleed out the seas, pump out the oil from beneath
Just so we can feed our greed with no remorse
As we poison the very air that we all breathe
And all for what so we all can obtain more
Can’t you feel it? In the tear drops of our Earth’s rain
The weeping shores of our planet’s pain
