When I Was With You #poem

When I was with you

I thought that I had it all

But I was a puppet on a string

Just waiting to fall

So cut my puppet strings

And let me fall

Because when I was with you

I felt like I was ten feet tall

Then you came through me

Like you were a wrecking ball

And shattered all of my trust

Like it was a brick wall

And I was an old house

That was made to fall

Now my heart is rust

And I am left to stall

Waiting for love to call

And now I am afraid if you answer

I would have to beg and crawl

Just to get your affection

Because when I was with you

That is what I recall having to do

Just to be with you
